Another anniversary...

...although not a wedding anniversary, that's in July.  This is the anniversary of when M proposed to me many years ago.  Despite it being unplanned and the proposal starting as a joke, conveniently, it happened to be right outside a jewellery shop.  We went back there later to buy the engagement and wedding rings.  We took a photo before leaving home to mark the occasion.

January can sometimes be rather a dull month after Christmas so celebrating this anniversary is a lovely thing to do.

We went to the Blakeney Hotel for lunch and was particularly pleased to be able to watch a beautiful and very active redshank feeding in the mud on the side of Blakeney Quay while we ate.

I've attached an extra of a section of the menu.  We, (and possibly other diners), were pleased to note that the 'soup of the day' which I've highlighted was no longer available and was replaced by a roasted parsnip soup instead. Frankie the waitress found it rather amusing too but resisted saying that 'it had been passed by the management'!
