Chiricahua National Monument hike

Today we woke up early and we left the campground and drove to the parking at Massai Point.
We packed our backpacks and filled up our water bladders and off we went. We hiked the Big Loop Trail, which was 9.5 miles. We first hiked down into a canyon, then had to hike up on the other side. From there we hiked a side trail with a small loop called Heart of Rocks. This was a beautiful trail and we had lunch with a view. Then we continued and hiked another side trail called Inspiration Point, with great views of the park and the desert. We could also see the parking lot on the other side. To get there we had to hike down into a canyon again and then come up on the other side. It was a long and tough hike with elevation, but also very beautiful. I love to eat a Snickers on long hikes :-)
