Apples and Oranges

By Anitsirk

I wasn't feeling well at all this morning, but I got myself to work anyway. I knew I only had to say I wasn't ok and I'll get easier work. I did, and I managed to stay for the 5 hours I was supposed to. I was both cold and sweaty at the same time, and tired, and coughing, and a soar throat...
I took care of some old plastic pots at first, then stamped our logo on some of the paper shopping bags we have, then another coworker took up this after me and I went in search of other work. Lice spotting, and some killing were involved too, and moving plants that need treatment. I didn't have the energy to work as I normally do, so it was a slow pace and not much accomplished.
On my way home I felt like a troll/goblin in my hair... sweaty and with hair coming loose from my braid. A bit happy I didn't meet my 'romanic interest' today (but, I did get some news from my boss on him, and that he was searching for me at work. That made me happy. :) ), looking like I did. I also stayed far away from customers. :D
Getting on the bus, the driver said 'I just have to tell you something...' 'Yes?' I said, and he told me he thought I had fantastic hair. I thanked him, of course, because it was a very nice compliment - especially after this sweaty troll/goblin day... But it was a bit funny, too, to receive this today. :D
When the bus was turning in on my street, I went forward to the drivers seat and I told him something I'd been thinking of, and that is that I always feel safe when he's driving. I thought I'd give back a compliment, that was sincere. He's a funny one, that driver. Always welcoming us onboard and giving an extra smile. I promised him I'd tell his boss what I thought, when we talked for a minute outside the bus. I remembered the bus number (the actual number of the bus, printed on the inside), so I can give the bus company the right information.
