Sun
Today is my first Thursday off since going back to work after Christmas. I've only been in work for 3 days, but really need this today, as I felt stress building yesterday.
After a lovely sing with the group in East Runton I have driven to Cromer, my main aim is for a long walk by the sea. As you can imagine the weather is quite biting, but it is healing watching the waves crash against the rocks, which are part of the new sea defences positioned here last summer.
I'm now having a cup of tea in the warm from the pier cafe, and am eating my smuggled in sandwich. I can hear the wind outside, and I can even feel movement as the waves crash against the pier, but the sun is bright, and thank goodness we don't have fires destroying our homes.
At 2.30 I will join the poetry group to read poems on the subject of ‘party - I have struggled with this theme. Before that I will continue my walk along the prom then back up through the town, and appreciatethis lovely part of the coast I've been so fortunate to end up in. We have come a long way from our childhood home of Hoddesdon.
There are far worse places to be.
