Thwarted!!
I really wanted to swim, I need to keep getting in cold water as I go to Poland in 29 days and so I went off to Redbrook. Pat came along for the trip, not the swim lol. We had decided that if the roads looked iffy we would just turn back, but they were all well gritted. There was a watery sun, smatterings of blue sky and the air temp was -3. I couldn't park on the path alongside the road as the snow was too deep. Someone had obviously tried and given up. I had to go back up the road to the lay-by and then walk down. I had my new shocking pink dry robe on so we were obvious to cars as the snow was way too deep on the verge. We made it to the path alongside the reservoir. Someone had been there before us and trod down a path, but it stopped just in front of Pat in the photo. It was a couple of feet deep, but in front of her snow had blown up the wall and it was right up to the top of the wall. We just couldn't get through. I was gutted as the reservoir was frozen and it would have been my first ice breaker.
I tried to make a snow angel. The snow was quite hard so I sat down tentatively. I lay there and laughed and there wasn't much of a snow angel. We gave up and went into Delph for a bacon barm and a cuppa in the lovely little cafe there instead.
A couple of other pics in extras......
