Life is a Challenge!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MIKE!

The birthday card, which has been going between Mike and me since 2016, was duly delivered to him last night ready for his birthday today, along with two gifts - a tablet of Pears soap, which we know he likes and a jug of my Bacon, Lentil and Sweet Potato soup - one for the outside and one for the inside - although as Lynn, his lovely wife said, probably best not to use the soup when he washes himself!

Mike had gone out this morning when a pick-up truck arrived with his new shed - he knows when to keep out of the way!  John, the delivery driver and Lynn had things under control, so we both just went out to add our two pennyworth, which as good neighbours, we often do!  I think John was quite surprised that we came out and Mr. HCB even offered to help him, but he said he could manage.  Mind you, I think that Mr. HCB wanted to make sure that John didn’t damage our car as he took the various pieces off the truck!

Mr. HCB has already told both Lynn and Mike that he will be happy to help carry the shed pieces through to their garden - apparently, John said they are not allowed to do that in case they damage the property!

Lynn and I were chatting and John just got on with the job he had to do with the off-loading, with Mr. HCB watching from the sidelines - and of course, I was out taking photographs - thinking it would make a good Blip for today.  John, the driver, did say it would help him if Lynn could take the banding, so she kindly wound it up - and no doubt will either use it - and I wouldn’t put it past her - or dispose of it.  I found a large piece of cardboard and wrote Happy Birthday and changed some of the wording so that it read “3 for 2 on sheds”.  We think this was Mike's birthday present to himself - because Lynn probably wouldn't buy something like this for him!

Not long after everything had been off-loaded, Mike came home, so we all stood and sang “Happy Birthday” to him and I think he was quite pleased.  I then asked if he would stand by the sign, which he did willingly.  We are so blessed to have such good neighbours and I’m sure there will be many more times that we help each other.  Now all we need to do is wait for the banging as Mike puts the new shed together.

Take care and stay warm and safe.  M xx

P.S.  We both rather liked Mike’s hat - going to have a look to see if I can get Mr. HCB one like that.
