On the job

These four chaps were walking around the park today with some kind of instrument (extra).  I learned they were looking for (underground) cables, though one of them said also for gold. Ho ho. Rufus hoped maybe for bones and buried chews, or even underground squirrel nests and spent several minutes demonstrating his awesome sniffing skills, hinting that he'd be interested in any internship opportunities with on the job training for a good sniffer - for which he received several compliments and a quick tickle. The bloke in charge teased by saying that Rufus would probably be more useful than his colleagues which led to a jolly chuckle and for the next few minutes the banter was very entertaining - but alas, no offer of an internship for the woofer.

It was so good to have sunshine today - and a milder temperature too. What a difference it makes to mood and motivation.  Mid afternoon I drove to the retail park for an hour's retail therapy.

Bro came for dinner and we watched the last two episodes of Life On Mars. Gareth is embracing a keto type diet for a couple of months, so no starchy carbs which won't do me any harm either as there is definitely, noticeably more of me than there used to be.
