Sunshine
for a while!
I thought it was going to be another day of not going out. We’d planned to go up to church to take down the Christmas tree and then over to do an M&S shop.
Chris walked up the village to put the heating on in the church saying we’d do our shop first and then come back to do the tree when it had warned up a bit. He bumped into Richard our Rector who told him not to bother with the tree as there was no rush - ‘don’t do it if you don’t need to’ being his mantra, as the pavements are treacherous he said everything for the week had been cancelled due to safety concerns including luncheon club on Thursday and he may even cancel next week Sunday service in church. Of course the tree will still have to come down sometime!
I’d had a message from M&S yesterday to say my parcel had been delayed so I thought we’d better leave that to another day too but then late morning there was a message to say it was ready to collect. There’d been a brief snow flurry but the sky was blue so, after a coffee, off we set. Our Close was horrendous but the road over Bingley Moor was fine - extra
There are few places to stop and the couple of laybys were iffy for pulling off but on the way back Chris pulled into the side of the road as we left Hawksworth village so I could take this shot. The snow was quite deep where I had to stand as you can see from the wall top.
In the centre distance is Baildon Moor. In the direction we were going, to the right, you can see the cloud which was the snow that we met back in the village where I needed to go to the pharmacy and post office.
We now have a white out with snow coming down quite heavily!
I’ve been out so back to the knitting I started last night and perhaps another jigsaw as suggested by Freespiral!
