Surprise!
Poor Elaine, awful conditions here, roads and paths are treacherous and we have had more snow.
So she made the decision to stay, avoiding having to drive home.
Such a shame as it’s her birthday and she was having a day with her daughter and staying with her and her family tonight.
A lovely surprise mid morning when she had a phone call from her son, a teacher in Gloucester, to say he had arranged a delivery to my house and to expect a knock on the door. Minutes later there came the knock and Elaine received a parcel containing a bottle of Prosecco, a cake ( serves 18!) candles and a birthday banner. How nice was that?
He had quickly arranged it when he knew she was stranded at mine.
In other news l had to dig my car out of the drive this morning to take it for its MOT, a bit of slipping and sliding on my road but the main road was ok and the garage is sited on it.
Took me five minutes to walk home so l walked on the road because there was hardly any traffic.
Got a phone call a couple of hours later , it had passed but l had already asked for two new rear tyres and they had been done as well.
Just looked out of the window and and it’s blizzard conditions.
