Marjorie's ramblings

Amaryllis season (Green Valley)

I've been thinking about showing you this amaryllis for a couple of days. I didn't want to miss it at its best. It's one of last year's plants and has put up two flower spikes at the same time. It's gorgeous.

My day started with a B12 injection at the surgery in Hexham. The nurse decided to do my annual review at the same time. No messing about with multiple appointments like at my previous surgery.

I shopped quickly then drove to Thorngrafton for coffee (and Christmas cake) with Kay and Eric.

The small country lanes are still tricky in places but I was careful.

Then to Haltwhistle where Brian had made a lovely soup, rolls and cheese lunch for me. We had a good chat.

Then to Haltwhistle Memorial Hospital to see Maureen. She was dressed and sitting in a chair. I could tell that she had been showered and her hair done for her. She is painfully thin. I suspect she did not manage to eat in the RVI and has probably not been managing much for a while in the Care Home because she can't chew.

I came home via Hexham General to see Margret and to deliver live yoghurt and fruit. She moves to a Nursing Home in 2 days and is understandably apprehensive about how the move will be accomplished.

I bought a ready made meal for tonight and have been relaxing and watching a drama about an aeroplane that crashes. Not ideal when I have four flights next week!
