New Finery
I'm playing a little fast and loose with today's MonoMonday theme of "new" although this dark eyed junco is sporting pristine plumage ahead of the spring breeding season - lots of new feathers!
We got a dusting of snow this morning so I bundled up, went outside, and popped the hide up. As expected, the birds were abundant especially these little juncos who are frequently referred to as "snow birds". They photograph really well and I think they look especially good against a snowy background like this one.
I had a routine visit with my GP this morning and talked to him about his availability to take on my parents if they decide to move here - he said he'd be delighted to be their primary care doctor! My husband and I (and SIL) have been seeing him for years and he knows us well so I know my parents would be in excellent hands.
We had a great time at dinner with our friends last night - it is always so good to see them. Turns out that she spent the day at the ER on the 2nd and although she is home and feeling fine, it's always a worry. And the reality is that none of us is getting younger!
I didn't sleep well last night so I may take a little nap this afternoon. The animals are way ahead of me - Charlie in the primo spot in front of the fire and Jax on the sofa. What a life they lead.
Thanks, laurie54 for hosting Mono Monday!
