Another Kestrel
Last year seems to have been a good year for kestrels given how many I've seen recently. Hopefully the stormy weather that we have bene having will not be too problematic for them.
When Cathy and I went out for lunch yesterday, we saw a number of cars that had come to grief in the overnight snow. At that stage the snow had completely melted so the sight of cars nose first in ditches seemed a little incongruous, but no doubt things were very difficult in the dark with slippery icy roads.
After yesterday's heavy rain, the local roads are not dealing well with the surface water, the bypass was shut earlier on and there's a fair bit of flooding locally. It is due to get quite cold again tonight, with more sleet, so I suspect that the roads are going to remain treacherous for a little while longer. I may as well get on with editing the Galapagos photos, as it is clearly not a great idea to venture out on the roads just at the moment.
