FIRE BLOOM
These are Red-Hot Poker plants - the Kniphofia family.
I remember them as a small child by their size and shape.
Their long, narrow foliage form a large mound and from the centre grow these upright flower spikes, usually bearing glowing red and orange flowers. Today there are many more varieties and these were the only plants growing in an ornamental garden by the seaside. The bees were attracted in their droves !
Sorry - not able to catch up today - but I will !
