Life's Little Moments

Yard Birds

Every year I keep two records of the birds I see in my yard - on an actual record that I track on eBird and the other birds that I happen to get photos of and post here on Blip.  So, this is my second yardbird of the year, a White Breasted Nuthatch (male) posed rather nicely against a clean background.  I cropped it by about 10% and made some minor adjustments to exposure and white balance.  I took the picture from about 6 feet away so it really didn't need much in the way of corrections.

It's bitingly cold again today - too cold to take Jax for a walk so we are going to do some training later and maybe even some scent hides in the basement.

We had a nice FT chat with my parents this morning.  Dad is feeling good since his day in the ER on New Year's Day.  And they are now seriously considering a move to an independent senior living community ... maybe even one down the road from us here in NJ!  I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much - it would be, after all, a very big move.  But I can't help but dream about being able to spend more time with them.  After our joint call, Hubs got on another FT call just with Dad who was helping him trouble shoot an electrical issues on the old sewing machine.  I know Hubs would really enjoy having my parents nearby too.

We are having dinner with our friends who own the nearby farm tonight - it is always a fun time when we get together and I'm really looking forward to it.
