Snowbound

Errr, not exactly. It seems we have dodged the worst of the snow and ice and I had no problems getting out and going into town this morning. In fact, down in Kendal there was very little evidence of any snow having fallen.
But I’m not complaining. It meant we could go about our planned activities which, in my case, was the last rehearsal of Aladdin before Tech and Dress. We were in costume, but not makeup, though we did do all the musical numbers and scene changes. It was the first time we’d tried this and it showed - if the show actually runs at 5 hours we’re going to have to give the audience beds for the night!
But it will speed up. The Tech team will be slicker with the changes and sound/light/FX cues by the time of Dress Rehearsal on Wednesday, and we all need to get our lines firmly imprinted in our brains so the dialogue can be snappier. We’ve still got the option of another - purely line based - rehearsal on Thursday if we need more practice with the delivery of those lines.
In the meantime, there’s just the little matter of auditions in Lancaster for the next production tomorrow night. At least I don’t have to worry about battling through snowdrifts to get there…
