Icy conditions

We woke up to a little snow this morning and after consulting the traffic news and road conditions, I decided we would have to head west to avoid crossing any Pennine routes which were, it transpired, closed anyway. The roads were difficult for the first hour or so. There was fog and rain later in the journey, but we took our time and drove carefully.
