Sally Mair - Loving life

New Shoes -pink ones too!

That time already! It seems no time since Josie's first pair.
Slept like a log last night in spite of my fears that I might not. I wish I could extract some off this good sleep and back it for one of those nights when it's impossible.
It's been another cold day today.
The birds were very happy with some of the fat left over from last week's joint which had been in the fridge. It disappeared like lightning. I didn't do very much today though, apart from kept warm! I made a couple of church related phone calls - catching up on various events in people's lives. I wrote a vacancy update for next months magazine too - it goes to print mid January, so not really so far ahead of the game.
A trip down to Craigleith was next, to take a couple of things back. Why is it that just when you find something you like and think you will buy another, that they discontinue it?
When I got back there was a delivery from Amazon part of which was a large bag of bird seed - which had leaked everywhere! I contacted them to complain, they asked for a photo and said no need to send it back as it was a foodstuff (!). I had to send the photo and they are issuing a full refund. I've got at least ¾ of what was there, so good for me and for the birds, less good for the supplier. Having said that, a simple seal on the container would have avoided any problem.
Dinner tonight was easy, our main course was what was left of New Year's Day's bargain sirloin in gravy, it was just as delicious as the first time. For dessert we had the last of our 2nd Christmas pud, now we've only one of mine left and the bargain one from M&S.
Take care everyone, the forecast sounds difficult for many people although here in Edinburgh we don't seem to be too badly affected at the moment. It's so cold though, and even without the threatened snow, the pavements are icy.
Stay safe everyone.
