Muted celebration
It seems more than a bit absurd having a blipday only a fortnight after the last one. But by a happy coincidence, today happens to be the 13th anniversary of my very first blip, which was also unremarkable (and Christmas-themed). In my defence, the weather has been absolutely dismal today, rain dissuading me from going more than 50 metres from the house. Extra: the remaining decorations put up by the village social club, bravely resisting the rain.
According to Blip, this is my eleventh anniversary, as I have mysteriously lost two years' worth of blips along the way [Edit: when I say mysteriously, I mean I inexplicably failed to take any photos on 730 days, or about once a week]. Still, 4015 isn't a bad number -- when I started I was doubtful I'd even last the year. It is such a pleasure having thirteen years of days to look back on, the photos always bringing back memories (and helping to easily settle arguments about when we did something).
I could have had no idea on day one that I'd learn so much, and make friends with other blippers by just sharing the ups and downs of our days with each other. So, a big thank you yet again to all my blipmates and to the volunteers who keep this site a haven of sanity in the increasingly unhinged online world. If you're a new blipper, welcome to our world!
