Life, not as we see it.

The river Tweed, by Peebles

Hi !   A Happy New Year to one and all.
A bunch of stuff from today's meander in the cold.   The car's battery has been showing a certain reluctance to do it's main job, so we went for a 50mile round trip to Peebles and beyond, to charge it up for it's forthcoming MOT.
Thence, on foot, upstream, past Neidpath Castle, the old railway bridge and a dodgy south side path.
There are always herons about here, but usually a bit more demonstrative than this one.
Lichen abounds on the trees of the south bank, this bit being on what SWMBO thinks is a hawthorn tree.
After our amble, we repaired to The Crown hotel, bar & restaurant where I enjoyed a rare, but properly cooked, chilli burger, and Sue had soup, as is her want, and mine usually, but the promise of local beef ground up with chilli was too much to resist.   Brilliant!

PS: Added extra, warmer version of collage.   Not a true reflection of the day, but perhaps a bit more viewer friendly.  ;-)
