After the snowfall
Last night we had about half a metre of snow. This morning when I woke up everything was white, and the low cloud hid the mountains from view. However by breakfast the clouds were lifting to reveal a beautiful day with blue skies, a really perfect day to go skiing with all that soft powder snow but we had things to do today so could not go skiing.
As we are travelling home tomorrow we had to take Xena to the vet for her 'passport' check - pets travelling into the UK have to have a vet sign off that she has been checked for her rabies inoculation, is dewormed and is microchipped.
After that we went for coffee in the village and I bought a few things from the supermarket. It was such a lovely day we went for a long walk, the trees were all covered with fresh snow and were sparkling in the sunshine, it was cold at -2C but not uncomfortable.
We had a light lunch at home and then I made breakfast for our journey home tomorrow - overnight oats with blueberries and nuts etc. I also made lunch as we really don't like the food we get from the motorway services along the way - a quinoa salad with chicken, peppers etc. Then it was the usual clearing of the fridge and packing up.
We plan to leave very early tomorrow morning, at around 4am. It will be another long day and looking at the weather forecast as we reach the shores of the UK it may start snowing. It has been a lovely visit and I feel renewed after having some sunshine and bright skies, back to grey Blighty now.
