Day1

The Decorator arrived bright and early this morning to start on painting our hall, stairs and landing. We had to discuss things like picture hooks and screws and filler to start with as well as which colour paint was going where. He worked very hard all day and managed to get the ceiling done and lots of filling and rubbing down. One particularly tricky job concerned the removal of three pieces of wood going up the stairs . These held the extra handrail put in for Dad before the stairlift was fitted for him. The screws holding the wood on the wall were very long and one of them had been cross threaded. This resulted in a large hole which needed a fair amount of filler. You might be able to spot it in this shot.

The other difficulty was getting down the small blue footed booby blind in the downstairs cloakroom, it was a tricky beast but gave up its grip on the wall eventually.

I’m so looking forward to seeing the feature wall colour!
