Project 2025 – I Walk Cornwall
Those of you who know my human, Ann, will know that she likes to have little projects to work on. For 2025 she's devised a project that we can work on together. Do you want to know what it is?.................. By the end of 2025 we are aiming to have walked 100 of the 'I Walk Cornwall' walks. Isn't that a nice little project that we can do together?
There's more than 300 walks on the, 'I walk Cornwall' app and Ann being Ann, says that we should set ourselves a 3 year plan to complete them all by the end of 2027. She walked the whole of the 'SWCP' with 'MollyCollie' between 2010-2012 and she hasn't really done a proper project with me yet. Mmmmm.............. not sure how possible this is going to be, unless we work really hard to the exclusion of all else. After all, 100 walks in a year works out at two a week. Considering that Ann is working (on average) 4 days a week and we'll also be going up to Edinburgh for at least a couple of months (probably more) during the year, and when we have friends staying (which is quite often as we live in such a desirable location), it actually cuts down on the time that we have left to go off on adventures together. Oh well, ho hum...................... watch this space. A challenge isn't a challenge unless it's challenging??!!!
For our first, 'I walk Cornwall' we went to Perranporth and did a circular walk to Trevellas & back. What a beautiful day. The sun was shining and the sky was blue. First we walked along the coast path and then we cut inland and walked through the fields to Perrancombe and then back to Perranporth. The scenery and the views were amazing. Not that I took much notice of either because I am a dog and dogs don't really take notice of that sort of stuff. Lol! The walk was supposed to be 5.75 miles long, but we got a bit lost at one point (though the good thing about the app is; it tells you when you've gone off course). Strava told us that we'd walked 5.89 miles.
And guess what happened when we were walking along the coast path?............... It was a bit narrow so I was running ahead of Ann, when she spotted about 8 people coming in the opposite direction. She stepped to one side to let them past and shouted, 'Trixie, come'. I immediately went running back to Ann and sat down at her feet until everyone had passed by. One of the men said to Ann, 'WOW! What a well trained dog that is'. Ann felt like the proudest Collie owner in the world, until I did silly 'puppy jumping up' at the next two people we met. Lol!
What a fabulous day for our first, 'I walk Cornwall' walk. I think I'm really going to enjoy this project.
PS – I was so hungry after my adventure that I asked for early dinner at 4.30pm, and then I asked for seconds. I'm back in my bed now enjoying a well earned snooze.
