Kingfisher #1

A late start, but we ended up at Yarrow for a short trundle around. The two mandarin pairs were both on show, however they were both intent on staying in the shade. We saw the male kingfisher flying around the top lodge but he never seemed to stop anywhere close so we moved on - it was too cold to hang about for too long. 
We walked up to the weir and back and on return were very lucky to see the female kingfisher sitting on a post in beautiful light. She did one dive, caught a small fish and then headed off into the reeds. Blip sorted.
