Beauty is all around us.

Frost and a sunny Thursday.

The Feast Day of Saint Basil the Great and Saint Gregory Nazianzen. Bishops and Doctors of the Church. Circa 329 to 379. They focused on prayer, helping people in community and doing manual labour.

It is just after 4:10pm and the temperature is minus one but feels like minus four. The sun is nearly setting and the blue sky is changing to a soothing pastel pink colour.

This morning the frost covered thinly, some roofs and the lawn. The bird bath was frozen and a kettle of boiling water cracked the block of ice. It was very cold here but sunny too. Real traditional Winter weather.

I didn't go out for our newspaper because I was concerned for my safety not knowing what was around the next corner in terms of potentially slippery pavements. I phoned Lynn to find out how it was from her house near Best One shop.

I decided to put several layers on, my blanket scarf, Thinsulate hat, and boots. I walked slowly and carefully to avoid the few slippery patches. Thank heavens, I was OK.

It will be minus three a little while later, from 6pm to 1am in the morning. It is merciful we are blessed with heating, for the sake of the indoor plants, the cats and ourselves. To be cold indoors would be not great, in this cold, resting spell of tough weather. The flooded areas are suffering also.
So I hope everyone is safe, warm and being happy.
Thank you for visiting my site today blip friends.
