French Champagne in Edinburgh Crystal Thistle Flutes. Appropriate. Pat ancestors are French and Portuguese and I am Scots.

The weather is very windy and very dreich. New Year Events have been cancelled over Scotland. The tradition of the Piper playing on the battlements of Edinburgh Castle was amongst the ‘casualties’ and replaced by a video recording of 2024.

We enjoyed all the champagne as we enjoyed FaceTime calls with friends and relations around the world.

Although the weather forecast was still dreich after breakfast we departed for Edinburgh to have with Mr and Mrs Dog. Mr Dog is unwell at the moment, however a ‘good time was had by all.’

We drove home in the evening. The route home was fine, despite the temparature -2C. The forecast snow commenced just after our arrival home.
