Happy New Year!

After our lunch in Bar Lagoa on the 31st, we had a siesta back in the flat and then down to the front of Copacabana for the fireworks. They were a bit of a disappointment this year to be honest, as the lack of any breeze resulted in a build up of smoke and obscured some of the display. No decent firework shots at all! Still nice to enjoy the atmosphere though and great to be able to walk home in under 10 minutes!

I’m posting this on the evening of the 1st January, after we enjoyed a walk and a nice lunch in La Marisquería on Barata Ribeiro - same as last year. In fact, we ate almost the same as last year - dressed crab and then shared grilled sole with almond sauce and mashed potatoes.
