Hogmanay

Edited to say I didn’t realise this was such an auspicious day. I started blipping in 2nd January 2019 and have enjoyed being part of this fabulous community. Thank you all.

Everyone headed out for a walk at Portibello beach to give Phin a run about which left me free to do the final touches before tonight’s festivities. I do love having the family here but my too many people vibe is really starting to kick in.

Graham and Grace arrived from Glasgow slightly later than scheduled but it gave me more time to prep vegetables for tonight’s dinner (Greek lamb with salads and bread). We had garlic prawns and chorizo braised in cider to start and I had planned a chocolate banana pudding but we were all too full.

It was a lovely few hours enlivened by the spillage of not one but two pints of Guiness - two dogs and a roomful of people doesn’t mix well - and just before midnight a bottle of Prosecco slipped from Mr PHL’s fingers.

Watched some traditional Hogmanay tv and enjoyed Graham Norton very much. A late night with my head finally hitting the pillow just before 3am.
