Planning Ahead
We are in the midst of a storm that started soon after we returned from Mass last night. Our front walkway was covered with hail until a heavy rain washed it away. Today, it’s dry and 52°F but the wind gusts are terrible. The daily temps will continue to lower, getting down to the low 30s°F this weekend. Our first snow should arrive on Sunday/Monday with temps in the 20s°F. We are so thankful we have no outside tasks today. I slept only about 3 hours last night with the storm. The swaying trees always make it sound worse than it is. I got up around 7:30 and did a dab of housework while catching up with local and world news. The story from Louisiana is heart breaking. Just why?? It did not take long after I sat in my recliner for me to fall asleep. We had lunch and cleaned the kitchen. Hubby changed our first night reservations for the TN trip later this month. He just found we have enough points for a free night’s stay. We’ll be in a very nice inn in Virginia on the way to see the TN kids for a few days. My sister and BIL stopped by to bring gifts for Brooklyn (fresh garden greens for her smoothies) and Mancil (lens cloth for his camera). They had helped Parker replace the pump in Jamie’s bar area. It sounded like a terrible job. Abi has COVID. Hope she was far away from them. It is never too early to start collecting items for the kids’ stockings, especially if they are on sale. It takes all year to find unique items. Kim loves Hello Kitty, Kristen entertains a lot and Mancil likes telling jokes (these will be family friendly). I found the party picks on the clearance table. My sister always decorates her covered dish donations. Those picks are adorable. I gave them to her when she stopped by. Renee has fresh soup ready for our dinner. She made enough to thank our BIL for helping Parker with the pump. We should all be able to enjoy the evening now. Hope you had a quiet and safe New Year’s Day. Let’s pray this is the first of 365 well spent days in 2025. Thanks for your visits and many holiday wishes.
