Shakespeare Day

Today has been a cultural feast! Helen managed to get us free passes to all of Shakespeare's houses. So this morning we started our trip back in time by visiting Shakespeare's Birthplace. The history of Shakespeare and his family was fascinating. Whilst there we visited the gardens of the house and found three actors there ready and waiting to give us a little taster of some of Shakepeare's greatest plays. So we watched two scenes from a Merchant of Venice and then two scenes from Macbeth. This chap was a brilliant actor and made us all laugh with his drunken tudor man.

We then visited Nash's House. After that we had a delicious lunch and then went to Mary Arden's house which was fantastic. Lots of tudor men and buxom wenches wondering about the place. It is a working farm and a real insight in to life during that time.

This evening we have relaxed in front of Les Miserable. A lovely historical day.
