On This Day

Calendar 2025

A very happy new year to everyone who celebrates. And best wishes for health and happiness in 2025.

We had fun yesterday though an early night. My grandson and I went swimming but the pool was really too busy for both of us. We stayed in a good while but I was glad when we decided that enough was enough. We had an evening meal with our daughter and some sparklers in the garden before bed. I went to sleep but the fireworks woke me at midnight and I haven't really slept since then. New Year tends to do this to me - too much unhelpful introspection. Anyway the bold boy is here, is sensibly fast asleep and will go home to his mum and dad at some point today. It's lovely to have a sleepover to start the year.

Much later today our daughter will be back for a celebratory meal of salmon followed by poached pears. The menu is planned but the execution is still required. Though I did poach the pears yesterday and they smell wonderful.

My first blip of 2025 is the January page of the calendar which we make for friends and family. The original was blipped in August 2024.  Some Blippers who followed my Tin Tabernacles of 2024 project asked what I was going to do with the research. Here's one output.  I've had gratifyingly positive feedback from most recipients (and a couple of more bemused comments). We always keep a calendar for ourselves and here it is on the desk.  Because I envisage the project continuing this year I have plans for something else to record the tabernacles. Not a book though.

I'm having a  cup of tea as I blip then I'm going to try to have a snooze. Wishing you an enjoyable day to welcome the new year.
