Ingredients for a favourite meal

Mr hazelh is cooking lobster thermidor for our Hogmanay supper this evening. Photographed here are most of the ingredients (the sauce is in a pan on the hob, and the stem broccoli in another), plus our celebratory drink. Thank you to the lovely person who supplied the latter! In the fridge is the apple and rhubarb fool that I have made for our pudding.

Having spent most of the day in the kitchen cooking ahead for our New Year's Day guests tomorrow, I am taking the evening off catering duties. 

Today I also popped up the road to pick up a prescription for Mummy hazelh (the last one that she will need here), and buy some vegan biscuits and a lemon. I bumped into Ella on the way home. We had a long conversation about our siblings and oldies.

We won't be staying up late: sleep is too precious in this household! Happy New Year to all my blip friends. 

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; small amount of walking.
