It’s Raining Again

Ah, the glorious panorama of Aldi car park in the pouring rain! It’s been throwing it down all day, and no sign of it easing off anytime soon. Ideally, we wouldn’t have gone out today, but with snow and ice forecast for the next few days, it seemed prudent to go and stock up with food.
Naturally, we couldn’t get all that we wanted in just one shop so much driving around Kendal and getting wet in supermarket car parks ensued. Aldi was our 4th (out of 5) stop and I was somewhat damp by this point.
The afternoon was spent more pleasurably booking tickets for events and shows next year. Not quite sure how we’ll pay for it all but that’s why credit cards were invented! A more immediate expense might be a new tumble dryer, as ours packed in this evening. Hoping it’s just overheated (there was a heavy load in) and all will be well once it’s cooled down. But I did check to see if Currys was open tomorrow (it is), just in case. We’ve also spotted a leak in the kitchen door, no doubt due to the heavy rain. It’s a tiled floor so no damage done and we’ve put down towels to soak up the water that’s getting in. I’ll call the chap who originally installed it (only a couple of years back), after the Bank Holiday, to see if anything needs resealing.
Not going anywhere tonight. Neither of us are fans of New Year’s Eve so will just stay in and watch telly. May make it to midnight but more likely not…
