Staying Local

Back to add a bit more for our record. It was nice to see and have a quick chat to Lukas after lunch (on Bb’s blip), the young lad who we’ve known since he was a boy and is now 21 and a father of a baby boy.

After lunch, we went to look around one of two very popular ‘commercial centres’ in our barrio on Santa Clara (same street as where we had lunch). It’s 12 floors of small shops/businesses, each about 20-30 metres in size. The way to do it apparently is to start at the top and work your way down. Bb and I started off together and he left me on the 10th floor, agreeing to meet up afterwards ;-) I left with 2 rings (one for me and one is a thank you gift for our neighbour), 4 doorknobs (see Bb’s blip. I might go back for more, so cheap and I have an idea on how to use them), and a little phone stand for Bb. Not too damaging to my pocket!

Afterwards, we met in La Maison to enjoy a bit of the pre-new year atmosphere. The place is filling up with visitors here to celebrate new year and it’s jumping! Seems busier than last year and we’ve heard that hotels are full.
