Amaryllis

This has been the Christmas of the Amaryllis! In autumnal I bought myself a second one, as I thought it would be interesting to have one in a different colour from the red that Jane gave me.
That has just burst into flower and it’s rather stunning! There are two flower spikes so it should go for a few weeks.
Jane’s gift is just starting into growth after having a dormant spell, that will take a month or two to flower.
Then Angela brought me one as a thanks for helping with her bees, and Maureen also brought one when they came for Christmas dinner. Those two are showing their noses and will come along quite fast. 
Gilly got one from Maureen too, and she has just potted hers so we can have a race!
Mine is photographed against one of our Petley Paris oils, and I think it looks good!
