Bath Time

A bit of daftness for the last Monday of 2024. I was sat eating breakfast when one of our garden robins decided to have a bath in the fish pond. There is so much weed at the far end he was in no danger of drowning, and had a fine time... Not a great photo, technically, but I think it's a fun one.

Janet is still suffering... a simple head cold, but nasty for someone with an impaired immune system. I've decided not to go out tonight as originally planned. I can't be bringing anything extra home to Janet for New Year. It'll just have to be a wee dram in the lounge...

Five years ago today, Dr Li Wenliang shared to a private chat group about a new respiratory disease in his home city of Wuhan. The message went, um, viral.. He was summoned to appear before the Wuhan police and admonished for scaremongering.

He returned to work at the city hospital, contracted the new Covid-19 virus and died aged 34; one of the first of more than seven million people worldwide. We grow complacent, irritated by inconvenience. Only a matter of time before the next pandemic... wash your hands robins ;-)
