Barton Marina…….

………late afternoon.
Both of us slept in this morning longer than usual, even though I’d been awake for an hour or so at 5:00am having my flask of tea!.By 11:15am we were ready to set off for the 20-25 minute drive to The Red Carpet Cinema at Barton-under-Needwood.
It has a small restaurant/bar attached, overlooking the marina, where you can book a meal before the film.
There are two bijou cinema screens with comfy armchairs.
We had our meal and then settled in our seats to watch “Wicked”, the new film.
We’ve seen the stage musical twice, once in London and once in Birmingham. The film version expands the story to include more of the original book.
The whole thing is a visual feast.
After a coffee by the marina we set off home,
