A foggy day, I could hear the fog horn this morning, there must have been a ship arriving or departing.

My friend who had the stroke called me last night to ask if I could stop in today and open a bottle of cranberry juice for her. I took my gripper with me, in case it was one of those bottles that is not easy to open. It was, so I was glad I had it with me. Marilyn has one of them too, but she never thought to use it. Her doctor would like to see her in person sometime within the next few weeks. I told her that I couldn't commit to taking her because I have the merchandising jobs. I told her that she would have to call the Seniors Center because the people they have would have experience helping someone who has had a stroke.

A good turnout at brunch today, 17 of us. One of the members was asking about the Christmas party that was delayed till the end of January due to health issues for 2 of the members. Other years I only had one requirement, and that was you attended brunch at least once a month during the past year. Since the group uses the money raised from the 50/50 draws to pay for everyone's meal, it is only fair that people attending buy 50/50 tickets too. This year I increased the price of the 50/50 tickets from $2 to $5. One guy complained and he has since given in and buys tickets every week again. One woman has not bought tickets since the price went up. A couple of weeks ago she was sitting at the table with Alan and I guess she thought she would be going to the Christmas party. She was sitting beside S when I was talking to her about it, and I made sure that I was speaking so she could hear it too, that you have to buy the 50/50 tickets to be able to go to the Christmas party. We raised enough money this year that we were able to have a pizza party, we paid for everyone's brunch one Sunday and plan to give the members at least $40 towards their meal at the Christmas party.

The extra photo was taken at Eastern Passage this afternoon. I had hoped to get a few more foggy day pictures, but the fog was too thick in most places.
