Colinton tunnel

Firstly, thank you to everyone who visited my journal yesterday marking my 12th blip anniversary with stars, comments and hearts. I very much appreciated your heartwarming words.

For my 12th year and 1 day blip I present you with the Colinton tunnels on the Water of Leith trail: https://www.colintontunnel.org.uk/ Much of the Water of Leith follows the course of the long closed Balerno branch railway line.

We’ve travelled the Water of Leith many times but this is the first time we’ve seen this epic mural on our walks. The mural depicts scenes from Robert Louis Stephenson’s “From a Railway Carriage” complimented by images from the the settlements and landscape through which the line passed.

We didn’t know how far we were going to walk along the Water. Barbara and David accompanied us to the Corner Cafe in Currie, catching the bus back to Balerno. In the end we continued on to Edinburgh city centre, a grand total of 9.25 miles before catching the 44 back to Balerno.

Over in California Chris was planing to take Landon on his first San Diego County peaks height. He was not hopeful.
