The Three Flamingos
As the sun was forecast and it was to be a tad warmer, I did two lots of washing and hang it out to dry before driving over to Pensthorpe. I set off in weak sun and no mist, then halfway there the mist appeared and that's what I had until half way on the drive home. That will teach me not to check the forecast of where I'm going! The geese were flying around a bit at Pensthorpe, but my photos were too misty. The flamingos were the usual star attraction. They were showing behaviour I'd not seen before. They were a large group on the left of the pond, then they split into two groups with one moving to the bank on the right. After a couple of minutes the ones on the right charged across the water towards the original group, then joined up happily. Then after a few minutes they repeated it again. I saw it happen three times, most bizarre and actually quite funny to watch. I've seen them marching as a courtship display, but not running before.
