Big guns

Really pleased my dirt cheap, 2005 Chinese petrol driven big pump, fitted with fire brigade hoses performed perfectly despite it being barely ever used. According to a friend in the fire brigade,  it's an out of date Honda designed engine, the patent for which the Chinese bought cheaply.

Only drawback,  it's so powerful that it empties tge cellar in just a minute or two, so have to keep starting  & stopping it. Anyway, main thing it simply runs and runs. Also prepared petrol engined generator in case the electricity to the four electric pumps was lost.

Apparently the village was hit hard, locals who have lived there 70 years not remembering it ever being so bad. Just wonder what it would have been like without the parish built overrun done after the 2005, once-in-a-century floods!
