Big Flood

Was to turn out worse than 2005 and 2006 floods. During the night called a friend, the ex commander of the village voluntary fire brigade & he collected sandbags from a farmer and drove them out to us in his quad as road now closed to normal traffic.

Water had popped out of the ditch along our border to the forest and was lapping at our back door. His strategic placing of the sandbags was excellent and strangely a few hours later, the level started to sink although the rain continued.

Spent the night manning 5 pumps!
