Christmas Eve

Catching up on my Christmas blips
Tuesday December 24
After breakfast Laura and I made some more mince pies, then in the afternooon, I made a lasagna for the evening meal which we would have after Christmas Eve service, by which time Jen and Jason would have joined us from Atlanta. While I was doing that, R, Laura and Liam were putting together the luminaries to line our driveway and the front of our property fo the evening, a neighbourhood tradition. They lit them just before we left for church at 5.45. Service started at 7pm, but choir had to be there to practice.at 6pm. The service started with a short nativity presentation by the children, which was very cute. We were amused by a little boy who was a shepherd, and they were carrying a (toy) sheep as they came down the aisle then were supposed to put their sheep down on the ground. However his sheep wouldn’t stay upright, and kept falling over, but the little boy kept bending down to stand him up again! We all sang the traditional Silent Night by candlelight. Jen and Jason had arrived at home in time to have a mince pie before getting to church just in time.
So there were six of us around the table this evening, with Philip completing the party tomorrow, flying in from Florida.
