100 Golden Years

Breezy, showers and sunny today, a mix of all three at all times, chilly too. 

Up early, catchup at work after Christmas.  I've been working on the toon essykert with Mickey driving and loading with Craig.  Black bag waste around Lerwick businesses, then the crescents, before heading to plastic recycling in Scalloway.  Walkies with Sammy, then ready for a night out. 

A big celebration tonight, not only is it mam and dad's 50th golden wedding anniversary (10th Jan 1975), also their best friends, Hilde and Pete's (Bardell) golden anniversary (28th Dec 1974).  All the family attended, along with friends too.  Along with the parents being best friends, us bairns have all been lifelong best friends too.  50 years of marriage, now that really is an achievement.  Speech by uncle Leonard and Hilde, drams and a good proper Shetland dance.  Both the happy couples cutting the cake, in the Cunningsburgh Hall.
