Kelso
TT and I had today off, for no real reason, other than we both need a holiday. One day will have to suffice at the moment.
We had a slow start to the day, but we got going and abandoned BB, who was supposed to be studying for an exam. We drove down the A68 to St Boswells. We visited the lovely bookshop where we had a good browse. The cafe was full, but they put our name in the waiting list, and it wasn’t too long before they came and got us. TT had a fabulously large bowl of soup and a sandwich, while I went for the bean chilli and a cheese scone. It was all very nice. I then made a couple of purchases before we went for a walk along the River Tweed, and up to the William Wallace statue. We retraced our steps, and by the time we got back to the car there were spots of rain. I suggested a quick visit to Melrose, but we ended up in Kelso, where we had a quick wander, before driving home.
BB was getting ready to head back to Glasgow, complete with a new haircut. I’m not sure how much studying was done.
After tea I walked down to the Co-op to use up my Co-op points on a bottle of gin. There are still some left, which need to be used by the end of the year.
Kelso was looking quite festive this afternoon. The extra is looking across the River Tweed, and of course William Wallace.
