It’s Official

The Bald Eagle has always been symbolic of the US but not until December 24, 2024 was it made official. On that day President Biden signed legislation making the Bald Eagle our national bird! • How fitting to spot this mature eagle perched on a tree overlooking the river this morning. There was little open water nearby but it didn’t matter because all of his attention was elsewhere. During the half hour we were there he called out several times, communicating to his mate where he was. We had hoped the second one would swoop in while we watched but not today • This day started with sunshine but it’s now clouding up.
