Aðfangadagskvöld - Christmas Eve
In Iceland it's tradition to begin the main Christmas celebration at 18:00 on Christmas Eve. This year my husband cooked venison steak with various side dishes and we had my mother's strawberry mousse for dessert. After dinner we open presents and enjoy our evening together.
The photo is from my son Dagur's camera, since my efforts with the selfie stick were rather unsuccessful. If you look closely you can see my husband decided to wear his Christmas suit trousers and the golden light up shoes....such fun! ;-)
Extra photos: It's also a tradition to have my boys, Kári and Dagur, set up and decorate the Christmas tree. This year they did our tree and also their grandmother's (with a little mishap of a broken Christmas bauble - oooops!)
