Village reflections

By the time I woke up this morning at 8am, Luke and Gavin had already left to go up Gotschna mountain to ski. The weather was glorious, full sunshine and blue skies for the week ahead. There is much snow in the village as there was a big dump of snow before Christmas, but it is starting to melt and no more snow is forecast for the next week. Adam and Anna went up Madrisa mountain which has beginner runs, as Anna has never skied before and Adam was going to teach her.

After breakfast I went into the village with Xena and enjoyed a delicious cappuccino at a cafe - the village was rather busy and the cafes were quite full. Then I did some grocery shopping  before going back to the apartment to drop it off and pack everything away. Xena was very patient but was rewarded with a long walk, I made sure I was wearing proper snow boots with a good grip as there are icy patches in some places which can be slippery. It was not as cold as I thought it would be and I got quite warm in my jacket.

The skiers had a good day although they said the snow up the mountain was not as good as they were expecting, Luke was unable to go off piste for some powder skiing. Anna did well with her first lesson!

A quiet night at home, I am trying to decide whether top go skiing tomorrow or not....it's not as appealing to me these days as it once was.

I keep forgetting to record that the 'hole' in Xena's leg from that small dog is taking forever to heal, as every time it seems to scab over she licks it, opening it up again. I should have got a collar for her to prevent this from happening.
