Early morning mists in The Horns valley

Waking surprisingly early for a holiday provided the rare chance to see the mists filling both our Horns Valley as well as the major Golden Valley. By the time my camera was out with a change of battery the thick mist behind the house was already flowing downhill towards the main valley of the river Frome.

This sudden clearing of the clouds had allowed a bit of cooler air to change the atmosphere and the relative humidity so much that the mists were disappearing. Within a couple of minutes there was little left. I love these times when you see the mists demonstrating the presence of the air currents and the way air masses flow with gravity down through the combes, as did the flowing water that originally formed them.
