Glenridding from Ullswater Way

The mist and low cloud descended overnight to give a blanket of cloud throughout the day. How fortunate we were to have two wonderful days of sunshine on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

We sadly departed from the Inn in the Lake after breakfast having thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas break there. It may well be the last time we stay there when we move to Cumbria next year.

Before leaving Glenridding we had one final walk along the Ullswater Way to Silver Crags which gave me today’s blip across Ullswater to Glenridding and the Inn on the Lake, trying to convince ourselves the walk was helping to burn off some calories.

Stopping off at Aira Force and driving through Greystoke and Stainton to view these places followed by refuelling at Morrisons in Penrith preceded the shortish hop up to Edinburgh where we are staying with Susan’s family for the next week or so.
