4/27 The Fireside
" It's amazing how the biggest things in our lives - when we're around the fireplace and talking about them when we're older - the things that matter the most to us start off amazingly small and in a humble way. "
Frankie Ballard
Again a grey and misty day hereabouts. A day that had been earmarked to do a few household things including making sure that we had our posh clothes ready for when one of our nieces gets married on Sunday.
Alas, Jayne's granddaughter paid us a 'quick' visit in the afternoon. A visit that eventually lasted over five hours as her boyfriend's classic car, a 1967 Wolseley Hornet, wouldn't start when they left.
After some remedial work, and stripping down of engine parts, it was up and running again for their journey back to Evesham.
I was very glad to get back in front of the fire and enjoy a pint of North Cotswold Brewery 'Shagweaver', part of my Christmas present from the aforementioned kids. Very nice too and an interesting name for the beer! I have enjoyed it before at one of our local pubs when it was on as a guest ale.
